I wonder what I am
and who I’d be
without the definitions
and machinery,
the trappings
and tools
the rules,
the right
and the wrongs,
the rainbows
the songs,
memories
I did not live,
things I did not give
but were taken
from me.
This is the quiet
Tragedy
of modern life,
the pain turned into a meme,
the strife
is now the American dream,
vividly portrayed on screen,
downloadable as a stream,
shareable to your team,
embedded in a workflow
controlled by AI agents,
powered by tokens
in a galaxy far, far away,
so far in fact,
it’s today,
and the force
is strong,
and yet
I have a choice
to not belong,
because space is free,
and this is me,
the poet,
and not the machinery.
